The autumn of 2025 at The Pines

 A trip to the Pines at the beginning of October.

A walk around Harlech






On the Afon Dwyryd estuary

Then we went for a longer break over half term at the end of October.





It was very wet!


We walked over the sand dunes to the beach then up to the top of Harlech
















we rewarded ourselves with cake and coffee!



The next day we had sunshine so we walked to Cwmorthin Slate Quarry near Blaenau Ffestiniog, up behind Tanygrisiau.



















































And we deserved our evening meal at The Grapes in Maentwrog.

Another day and a full English was in order!

More bulb planting...

A drive down the Llyn Peninsular.
Aberdesach



Then we drove from Aberdesach to Clynnog-fawr and visited Eglwys Beuno Sant, the 15th and 16th century church.






And a wander around the village.








Then onto Morfa Nefyn




And back to the Pines. Next morning was a pink morning!






Lunch then a visit to  Airworld Aviation Museum


A packed few days.

Twixmas 2024

 So we drove down to The Pines for a few days between Christmas and New Year. We were not in the Christmas mood so didn't put the tree up like last year, I did take a few things down we had received as Christmas presents though. We didn't have great weather whilst we were there. First day we went for a very misty walk along Black Rock Sands. with a late lunch in Criccieth. Next day we stopped off at Beddgelert on the way to have a picnic lunch in the mountains. Then another day to Betws-y-coed. A walk in the woods A different mug this evening! Most of the days were miserable! A very wet and windy day on New Years Day in Caernarfon We drove all the way to Beaumaris on Anglesey but only got out the care for doughnuts and coffee (they weren't very nice either!) We got stuck a few times trying to get home because lots of the roads were flooded. Below was a field not a lake! So a bit of a damp squib for this visit.

 So we find ourselves owners of our very own Holiday home! Glan Gors is a small estate of modern homes, of various sizes built between 1975 and 1980. We have been holidaying here at a friend of Olly's mum's house for the past 14 years.  Over the next year we plan to breathe new life into this tired 2 bed-roomed apartment. We will share the renovation and the before and after photos. We have come to love this part of the United Kingdom and we are so excited to start this new adventure.
