 I had not realised I had not updated the Pines Blog...then again I hadn't updated my Everyday life blog either so it shouldn't have been a surprise!


So a big catch up is in order! Lets start all the way back in May 2025...

 


We went down for both bank holidays in May staying longer for the last one as I was off work for half term.



A visit to the Castle at Harlech



Then a walk along the estuary from Penrhyndeudraeth





A walk from Borth-y-Gest





There was a trip to eat at Dylan's near Barmouth


With fabulous sunsets!






We had a delicious Sunday lunch at Millie and Sid's in Tywyn.
Spotted a Minke Whale in the bay too!

 So we drove down to The Pines for a few days between Christmas and New Year. We were not in the Christmas mood so didn't put the tree up like last year, I did take a few things down we had received as Christmas presents though. We didn't have great weather whilst we were there. First day we went for a very misty walk along Black Rock Sands. with a late lunch in Criccieth. Next day we stopped off at Beddgelert on the way to have a picnic lunch in the mountains. Then another day to Betws-y-coed. A walk in the woods A different mug this evening! Most of the days were miserable! A very wet and windy day on New Years Day in Caernarfon We drove all the way to Beaumaris on Anglesey but only got out the care for doughnuts and coffee (they weren't very nice either!) We got stuck a few times trying to get home because lots of the roads were flooded. Below was a field not a lake! So a bit of a damp squib for this visit.

A flying visit

 A weekend in February. We drive down on the Friday evening. In time to catch a meal at The Grapes at Maentwrog. The next morning we checked on the daffodils we planted last October. I'm not sure why all my photos keep going on in the wrong order! Blogger playing up! So this was Our last day, the Monday. The weekend had been very grey and drizzly. A visit to Llandanwg. Lunch at Y Maes Cafe. The tiny church was open so we had a peep inside. The rooks were coming in to roost in the pine trees. This is the Paris map we framed and put up on Saturday morning. On the Sunday we went to Caernarfon A trip to Barmouth on Saturday. We couldn't see anything from the mountain that day! Brunch before we take a walk around the little alleyways behind the main street. So a flying visit on a drizzly weekend in February.
