Summer at The Pines part 2

Our second holiday at The Pines this August.

19th- 29th August

We drove down late on the 19th August for our second week at The Pines.

a walk around Tan-y-Bwlch

Fireworks across the estuary.

Afon Dwyryd estuary

It was not swimming weather this time. More a cosy coffee and cake at the cafe at Llandanwg.

We did have time to drive down some little lanes and discover little hamlets we have never visited before.

This is  Maes y Neuadd hotel, we have had afternoon tea here a few times in the past. A very ancient 14th century building now abandoned it has had many famous people visit over the years including Richard Gere, Kylie Minogue and Jackie Kennedy

We stopped off at Dylan's to book a table for an evening meal later in the week.

A visit to the National Trust Property Plas Yn Rhiw

We did another great walk from Llanbedr....we got a bit lost in the undergrowth but it was an amazing walk with fabulous views.

and finished off the day with a meal at Dylan's in Criccieth.

I told you we packed a lot into our second week...these photos are also back to front!!
This particular day ended at the Grapes for a well deserved drink...

It started off with a bike ride through the forests near Llanwrst, a visit to Swallow Falls and then a great walk along the Crimea Pass from the A470 near Blaenau Ffestiniog

and our second to last day we visited Plas Newydd in Llangollen.

Walking to the Bronze age hillfort Meol Goedog

And then our last look around The Pines before heading home.

  1. What a wonderful week you had here in August. Hopefully fully refreshed for your return home. Your cottage is looking very cosy and welcoming.
